8 Wedding Dresses That Are Perfect for Any Bride With Spinal Curves
Exactly three years ago, Adam and I tied the knot. It was a fun-filled sunny day on Anna Maria Island, Florida. Everything turned out perfectly. But just because the day was perfect doesn’t mean the road getting there wasn’t bumpy. As we planned the wedding, I shopped and browsed and tried on what seemed like a thousand dresses, but nothing seemed to fit. It was so difficult to determine which styles would flatter my body type, which is why I decided that writing a dress post was definitely in order. Here are eight dresses that I think would make any curvy girl stand out on her special day:
1. This gown has a wonderfully structured bodice and a fun, dramatic, jeweled backdrop. It’s perfect for a bride who wants to show off her figure, yet camouflage any imperfections. 2. This stunner is ideal for brides who want to conceal their scars. The flattering lace lengthens the torso, and the straps and structure will provide plenty of support. 3. For brides who want to proudly showcase their backside, here’s a soft A-line gown that can help create the illusion of a narrow waistline, while showing off everything that you truly are. 4. This gorgeous dress has beadwork and lace in all the right places to flatter any curvy bride. 5. For brides who want to accentuate the smallest part of their body, while disguising anything below the waist, a gown like this is a great option. The A-line skirt with the backdrop buttons is nothing less than breathtaking. 6. This princess-worthy dress is great for the bride who needs a little help defining her waist. 7. This dress is simple, yet has it all: it’s gorgeous and delicate and has the ability to flatter any bride who tries it on. 8. I love the fact that this dress isn’t white. This dress is perfect for bustier brides who need the straps, plus the large ballgown skirt narrows the waist even further for a dramatic look. Just in case you were wondering, this was my dress. It’s very similar to #7 in the slide showThere you have it, my list of beautiful dress for the scoliosis bride-to-be. After my long search for the perfect dress, the only advice I can give any curvy bride is to plan for alterations. It will make it much easier to find the perfect dress.
PS – I am not a designer and I am not into fashion. This list was created based on my personal opinion after trying on a ton of dresses.

Any of those highlighted, Eliana, would make a wonderful bridal dress for most; all extremely elegant. And your choice looks gorgeous.
What a wonderful venue you chose; it must have been delightful; I’m sure… 🙂
They’re all beautiful dresses. I have a question though. What type of dress would you suggest for a bride that has scoliosis and didn’t have surgery? 80% curvature of the spine so there’s a hump on the back. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Hi Joan! Do you mean 80 degrees? Is the curve on the right l-hand side? Can you send me an email and I’ll send you a few suggestions? My email is eliana@thecurvyspine.com.
